Relationships are not easy. They are complex, confusing and consuming. When your relationship is going well, life feels good! When it isn't, it can feel as if your world is falling apart.

Coming to couples counselling can help both of you to explore some of those stubborn, painful issues that just won't seem to go away. It can also help you navigate through the new challenges that different life stages bring, such as parenting, children leaving home, or retirement. Having a non-judgemental space where you can both be supported to express yourselves and be heard can increase understanding, connection and trust. You may also develop important skills that will assist to improve communication and overcome relationship conflict.

I use a range of approaches with couples, depending on the needs and aims of the relationship. However, as a trained Family and Emotion Focussed therapist, these evidence-based modalities form the foundation of my work.

Most couples counselling sessions will involve both partners. At times, individual sessions may also be beneficial - it will depend on what each relationship needs.

COST: $130 per hour

FOR INDIVIDUALS

When life throws us challenges, we can feel overwhelmed, alone and stuck. Sometimes, these feelings are new and frightening. Sometimes, they are old, familiar and dreaded. Usually, we try to navigate through these emotions by using our own resources and supports - and often we succeed. But sometimes this journey can feel too hard to do on our own - and that's when coming to counselling can help.

Counselling can help you to address current issues that are getting in the way of you living the life you want to live. It can also assist you to understand and manage those emotional responses which seem to have been around for a long time, and can often manifest as anxiety or depression.

Counselling can be short term (3-4 sessions) or longer term, depending on what each person needs.

If you would like to find out more about counselling, and how we could work together, please schedule a free initial 15 minute phone consultation.

FOR FAMILIES

Families are intricate networks of patterns, emotions and interactions that are forever changing. As we journey through different life stages, our family units need to adapt in order to develop and thrive. This can often pose challenges that create conflict and frustration for family members, and situations in which relationships feel fraught and disconnected.

Family therapy is a process where family members are encouraged to share their perspectives in a safe and supportive therapeutic space. By exploring the history and context of specific issues, the family are better able to understand their relationships and responses, and together develop shared hopes and goals.

As a counsellor trained in Family Therapy, I use evidence-based approaches and interventions. If you would like further information, please contact me to book a free 15 minute consultation.
